Friday 16th May

Had a great time with the bunch for a 'farewell' dinner last fri. yup dear sheauling is leaving for germany yet again. Hmmmm well its only 8 months will past very quickly i guess.

Had dinner at swensens with the honours bunch. gald to know alls doing well. Hope Jieying will have a great time with her job and the teachers to be too!

Me ling just cant get enuff of singing so we headed to party world and guess wad? Jack wee was just like a walking MP3 player!! he knew every single song we chose. And En Bin oh mine that swooner can really sing! Suresh joined us too...and well just need to memorise abit of lyrics and im sure you can tackle 'tong hua'. And yes mr spearmint and ms ling were crazy over May Day songs...crazy they sang bout over 10 of their songS!!!!

Sun 17th May

Went to my bro's SAJC concert 'once upon a time'. well well his conducting skills are improving. happy to see him with the baton on stage. Glad that he enjoyed himself after so much effort put in. it will be his last concert with the band since A levels are approaching. love the little musical the band prepared. entertaining!

New found marvel hero

You would never have guessed but i have caught Iron Man twice last week. Once with mummy and the other with himself and Will. Yup deux times! not a bad movie. though the boys expected more from the duel scenes.

Off to to durty nellys next. Guiness pie wasnt a letoff but pretty much prefer the sausages instead. had wonderful company with lee, jolene and will. pics in next post

All that she is going through really makes me wonder wads with all those horrible b*****es in the world...what an utter let down to our womankind!

Heya everyone! alrite its been some time since im here..well well procrastinating and yup lazing. Dunno whether anyones still popping ard my blog. but yup decided to start blogging again.

Lifes been pretty good. My job has gotton much more challenging than before. With more projects cause of the ever demanding clients. And Ive started French lessons at Alliance!

Just had our annual DnD last month. The "around the world" theme made it such a blast. I was there in an ao dai (courtesy if my dearest cousin Wendy) and my dear colleague Alina was there in a Kimono. Really had a great time...let the pics do the talking.
Then...it was williams bdae at Timbre last fri!...nice company!
And the guys just had too much Booze!

This weekend gotta be quite a kiddy-packed one for himself. he got himself a 2 day stint as a mascot for the new launch of a children dvd. gotta glimpse of e mascot Lingx2 when i headed to parkways borders. and right the mascots' a gal! and boy is it CUTE! and himself really had the persona for it! haha. His other half is Taoshu equally cute too. i cant help but to giggle to myself when i first saw darl in e suit!

Adieu 2007!

Its my first ever post for 2008! guess ive been pretty piggy these days. blog seems almost dead!
Well lots of stuff to post. my bdae pics.bangkok pics.new yr eve pics n blah blah. Well dats to pay for the all the procrastinating. 2007 have been a whoa year with the usual highs and the dreaded lows. but honestly it was a great year. and boy does it flew past quick ya. Im glad that all my frens and love ones are doing well the past year. working at Firmenich has been great the past 6 months. from promokits for mens shower gel.to jnj talcum powder proj.and developments of new techies to enhance fragrance - they really kept me busy!

spent the nye with himself,sheryl, ei hua and will this year. have always wanted to bask in the bustling atmosphere out in the streets on nye every year and finally got to do it. but it was horridly crowded. managed to catch a nice glimpse of the fireworks though (all thanks to will !)

The mousey family
Had dinner with mousey tze ying and pauline last night. its been almost 2 years since i last met them. Had dinner at Din Tai Fung where we chatted about love, life work and dreams. Really miss these gals. So glad that pauline found the one and the plans to get hitched in 3 years time. haha. JC was a passe 5 years already. but sitting down chatting and laughing over dinner made me reminisce the gd ol' times.

headed to robinsons where the 2 ladies got down to some christmas shopping for their other half. Cuff links for mousey's Alvin and briefs for Paulines' James. how sweet seeing the gals meticulous ways in choosing their gifts. well tot of what shd mine be already. didnt found it there at Robinsons though. but shhh...shall keep it a secret =)

My bdae!

6th Dec started off like any other working day. was still working on the promokit for mens shower gel fragrance range for regel. and olfactive training in noon which took me to e different raw materials from citrus to chypre to floral blah blah... but 3 hrs of it was no joke and it will cont for another 3 days! but fun la.

Met himself at tamp after work. And he decided on a surprise whis year. ( well must be all the whinings that ive been giving him about wanting surprises and stuff"

me:"hee..thank you!"
himself:"sorry...didnt prepare any birthdae gift for ya this year."
me:"aiya its ok..you are bringing me to dinner already wad."
himself:"arent you disappointed dear...or angry?"
me:"no la...its ok" ( and i was really not dissapointed or angry)

well he went on for bout several times about not giving me pressie and stuff throughout the road ride to east coast. We finally arrived at katong village's carpark. I got down while he went to open the boot and called me over. And..there it was in the boot...a bouquet of daisies and a nicely wrapped box! the flowers were a dear least expected gift!

Dinner was at Samba at katong village. and it was definitely a coveted dinner. It was churrasco style dining..brazilian food. with 13 different meat to choose from.. yes it was meat overload! They were tender juicy and well marinated..from beef to lamb and seafood. they were alll delectable!! me and himself esp love their grilled bananas...which conveniently melts in our mouths with bits of crackling cruncy caramel bits around it.mmmmm...mmmm! The waiter would walk around serving the marinated meat. was especially glad with their gd service!

Caught The Golden Compass after that. and boy i love the icebears! they are like ROARing with charm. plots gd and unlike Chronicles of Narnia...it really screams with 5 popcorns for me.

headed back home after dat and opened the lovely wrapped pressie.i was really guessing wad it was. Himslef even lined the box with frills of paper and petals of potpurri. haha that sweet tums tums. my heart melted when i saw the miniature bright red with a black topped SUZUKI Samurai modelled car which he had painstakingly made. Ive always loved land rovers like those from the Wrangler series. The miniature one in my hand were like my dream car! It wasnt easy putting it together thanks alot tums tums!

I was sniffing through perfume strips and im in love with ms dior cherie! an olfactory sensation of caramel and popcorn and strawberry welcomed me! yum and chic! well a much better creation then the usual top notes of bergamot, vanilla and patchouli.
always the perfect pic that makes my day and make me go whee!

Blogs alive again!

Its been a long time since i've last blogged. Well, been a bag of lazybones and completely hooked to facebook *chuckles*. A weekend break at sentosa with himself was a pure rejuvenation time. Its been almost 3 years since ive been to sentosa and boy has it changed! we started off with Luge and gosh it was exhilarating! Overlooking the island with Skyride was an eyeopener till i drop my sandals midway (careless i was as usual). Himself on the other hand was trying hard to overcome his fear of heights hee. basking in the sun next by the beach. chilling under the sun at Cafe del mar was a relaxing affair with nachos and cool vodka lime (wish i can do this every week!) Songs of the sea was great too..the fireworks and laser displays on the night skies were just splendid! *heart* mr sunshine!

total Hilarious! it kept me awake even though it was the wee hours already. Plot was kinda predictable but its the tickles that makes me give the thumbs up for Evan almighty. Himself wasnt amused by the show during the first half an hour. His gregarious laughters only came with Evan started wearing his comfy robe and having that wierd goaty. mine oh mine its a brand new week. hope everyones feeling the vibes of a wonderful week! in 2 more days it will be a display of red and white everywhere. cant wait for the holidays and the trip to desaru with mummy n himself! Ive been posted to perfumery department and i cannot describe how elated i am. I cant wait to start of with technical development stuff related to all the wonderful fragrances! will meet up with ying n the rest on wed. Its been awhile since i caught up with her. yeh!

Dragonboat with my colleagues was great. It was Firmenich's dragonboat day at kallang's water sports center. hope the photos will be ready soon. hee. a mini race got us 2nd in place with dawn, me, jane and michelle struggling the "1,2,3,4..1,2,3,4" commands. with total exhaustion apart, it was a wonderful morning spent with them

to himself: your shushu will always be there for you ya. im really glad i have known the 2 sweet daughters of his. they are really sunshine to be with.

climbing out of bed feeling lethargic and dragging both feets to work. haha an atypical mon? well its going to be 2 months at firmenich and im glad that mon blues are not getting into me yet. weathers been pretty chilly these days. the poor boy has suffered from overstretched muscles on his thighs and boy are the signs of injury showing. well no soccer for another month *sulks himself*

Its my mammys bdae today! she have recieved a pretty bouquet of roses..envious. never had flowers for my bdae before.haha. brought mum n dad to lunch on sunday at a jap restaurant( as the food is sosososo distasteful i have forgotten its name). well it was my third time there, the first 2 times have brought me to hot sizzling stone bowl rice meals and fresh sushis. but a disappointment it was on our third visit. and not forgetting the the price hike thanks to our oh so dear GST. but the meal was enjoyable on the whole. himself was utterly disgusted by his bowl of beef rice. the beef were as chewy as wrigley gums!

"couch potato" is what i am every evening after work. its a well deserved treat for myself after a days of work. There is always something awaiting in the lab each day. An attachment student from France (coincidentally Audrey too) just came in today. and boy i love her accent!

lunch was a mini "youth day special" for the youthfuls in the perfumery section. pizzas, chicken wings and fruits . brought audrey(sounds wierd calling my name) to jason's supermarket at raffles city to get her groceries. love their array of fresh fruits , yoghurts and veg. cant resist the temptation of ski yoghurts adorned with lots of fresh fruits..slurps

oh yup! Are there any krispy kremes outlets in S'pore anyone? one of himselfs fren treated me to one he brought in from australia and they are goooodddd....

learning e importance of the nose

the new found job have taken me to collections of different shampoos, detergents and food (that smells all so gd). collection of perfume oils and flavourings made me realised of the many ways to describe these fragrances..woody, oriental, vanillic...and it goes on and on. analysis does not seem an easy task. hope im able to tackle that.

last fri was the first time i was able to do it alone..all by myself with no one beside me. felt a little lost at first seeing the many cars whooshing beside me. but i managed keep my composure and prevented myself from being a menace on the roads. and phew i managed to meet himself in one piece...a gush of relieveness i must say. well didnt quite recognize him from afar cos of the formal attire adorned (the 2 new addition to your closet looks splendid). finally developed the photos taken at taiwan. himself is truelly enjoying his holiday stint in the finance dept (guess the milo tin in the pantry is running out real soon...haha).

Work

jobbie has been fun the past week. finally get to do some extractions this week after all the orientations. yeh! chocolatey flavours were lingering in my lab as if i was whipping brownies in the oven. haha. and i love the citrusy flavour dat i was working on to. well mass spectrums will be a great hurdle for me though. shall jia u on dat.

received great news from dear ling! she has gotten her scholarship. she has always been striving hard for it..so happy for her! congrats me dear girl.big grins

HALO!

guess its been almost close to a month since i last blogged. thanks for all my close ones who have been there for me. mum n dad for being by my side and their golden advices. himself for the usahana prezzie n loads of lucky stars (really sharing my woes). my dear gfs who were there for me with their constant smses(those really really meant alot alot) n of cos ppl like susu 4 his support. well...lesson learnt shall not be so blurry anymore haha.

Days at Firmenich has been wonderful so far with e fun quirky colleagues and my charming n understanding boss. ha! orientation brought me to lotsa food tasting..biscuits to beefy gravys and marshmallows. did some familiar stuff like liquid-liquid extraction on some flavours on thurs. well though bit nervous but had a grea time. i cant wait to share all these with the gals if they are having dinner gatherings e coming week. oh yup and i have another good news to share with fen, ling,shebeng n the meanies. but shall keep dat on e hold first hee!

headed to esplanade for PLAY! a video game symphony managed to get 2 tix form shawn. me and himself enjoyed it totally. super mario and sonic hedgehog themes were the more familiar ones for me. singapore festival orchestra's a hit. final fantasy's One Winged Angel though sounded a little dark but was great too...didnt quite get the choirs "belly,belly..." chants. anyways applauds for it!

taiwan pics haven been uploaded yet though.oh ya and also the wedding solemnisation at 1 rochester (awesome place to hold a wedding reception) . shall do it real soon. meanwhile ups and downs r inevitable but its e ppl around that makes the difference. miss you gals hope to see ya all the coming week.

Awwwsome day!

it was outing with the bunch. and yes i enjoyed every bit of it. the lunchie at tongshuicafe, e shopping at great world city, the k session and of cos our breko's. i reckon it is never our last outing guys. i wish for many many more to come in the future. thanks jy and fen for their little gifts. the tiny msgs meant alot. was my first time at tongshui cafe. nice place just opposite great world city. its mush better alternative to those pricey hong kong cafes. their noodles, toast and smoothy blends are such a yum! and i was total impressed wth the 10 bucks ktv. we had helluva fun there with uncle en grooving to jolin tsais moves and his duets with fen! brekos was fun but it had the total different experience from the previous times. cos everyone was like" it will be our last time here...." OH NO it shall not be! awaiting for sun!

went to yoga with sheauling and weijie in the morning. i hope to be a contortionist soon.haha the moves really r testing my muscles. hope they dun ache tmr. went shopping next with weijie. we poor gals were abandoned by ling. haha ling went for some eye spa too at true spa. rr.. sounds like a typical tai taish day (like wad the bf said). Lunch was at a korean restaurant at far east. ooh the food is nice. ate their rice thingy in cattle stone..mmmm.. their set luches comes at just $10! with the main course at side dishes. gd value gd food!

Shopping with mummy

Yes ive gotten my dress! mummy chose it for me..cos of dat i love it to bits!Aunt judy joined us too. had lunchie at riverside points' indonesian restaurant. their curry and other spicy stuff r worth the money.aunt judy was nice to take time off to go shopping with us and gimme ideas on dresses.love spending time with mummy.audrey is happy!

Geog paper ended yest. Although the paper was a killer hope i can get my S. Then the same bunch with susu and wan si went for yummy food at Botak Jones. Recommend this western food stall for value for money food!!Its situated at clementi. just have to turn right when u exit the clementi mrt control station. walk all the way straight to Kopitiam. There u find botak jones. Queue can be pretty long but good foods worth the wait. i had fish and chips and cajun chicken with fang and jieying.

It was to MOS next. Had a great time clubbing with fen, fang, ling,ping guo, jieying, wan si, susu and uncle ben. thanks for the bf who fetched me for some supper and home. hee cant wait to go changhongs house for another gathering! yippie.

Just watched the movie "In The Name of Father" on HBO. was moved by the show. 4 innocent people known as the Guilford Four were convicted guilty of a pub bombing during the 70s. And it was a wrongful imprisonment that was only discovered 15 years later. One of the four ,Gerry conlon, had his dad kept in jail together with him. the latter died in prison. sad it may be it was only in 1990s that the four were found not guilty due to the discovery of new evidences. shows how juridical system can fail at times too.

Bro's Concert

It was to my lil brothers concert tonight at SCH. Many highlights for the nite. There was a little skit that the band put up for preformance. Brother acted as a butler with an apron! hilarious! Then he did his thing! Conducted 'beauty and e beast'. The cast for the little skit were good too definitely not slip short work. Think his conducting skills have improved. Swaying to the music like a maestro haha. keep it up boy. the bf and steph went to support bro too. Met shawn at the concert too he is one drama mama add lotsa fun to the concert with his comments la. Think SAJC's band is a hit. It was a fun concert ( the first band concert that i enjoy myself to the fullest!)..APPLAUDS to e band and bro!

Hey guys remember the chili noodles i was craving for...this is it. the boyfren (nice as usual) brought me there for a 2nd visit on thurs. howeva the bout of flu and sore throat just got betta so i had to call a milder serving of the hot hot chili on the noodles. his bowl of noodles look more tantalizing. Well its is actually dried prawn noodle. but the special twist that gives it the Wa LA! its yes the chili. was so busily indulging in the tantalizing noodles that ive forgotten to take photo of it. but heres the stall... its at beach road. the one where u army guys can find all ya barangs. after the noodles my throat was itching again and i had a bowl of chin chow which is also highly recommended by makansutra. jelly just slurps smoothly down my throat...hmmmmm soothing!

yoga

Its been ages since i went for yoga lessons. cos of sch work and stuff ( haha excuses). Anyways it was to yoga with sheau ling today. could feel those still and tight muscles working like frozen tenderlions. heez. but felt so much relax after the session of yoga. besides doing yoga beside sheau ling was fun. could see how both of us tried to twist and turn amongst the many aunties.
it was little sheryls little party. dear helped alot with the food prep! haha on the road to being a gd cook! never knew or remembered how excited i was for my 12th bdae. Nevertheless her bdae is 2 days later. and yup the little gal will be 12. heading for bros first concert with SAJC. shall see how well his band performs tmr!!

Its been a long long time since ive had fever. and this time it really felt bad. could feel myself burning. head was heavy and groggy. felt damn lethargic like theres a ton of potatoes piling on my head la!
well nevertheless the boy made things so much betta for me. with his constant reminder of "take ya medicine already?" and waffles with cheese! lotsa hugs for dat.hope i will get total back in shape by tmr! i still want my chilli noodles la! had a call from qing lin just now. yeh! shes going for a job interview tmr! hope all will be fine for her first interview!
well i still cant get to sleep maybe cos its all of the afternoon naps i had dur to the med.

Exams are still ongoing but still decided to blog today. 1 papers down and dats the paper i dread the most! Organic Syn. So can bust that lecturer he is such a bore! Looking forward to tmrs bioinorg paper though. Well after tmr im kinda officially off and adios to exams ( though im still bogged with a geog paper on 3rd may) but like wad sheauling said shall read the notes leisurely during the 1 week wait.

Marking the end of a year long road...

well yest was the day i finally tasted the fruits of my hard work and for my many other darling frens too. The chemistry honours yr symposium was definitely eventful. So glad to see my poster pinned amongst the many in University Hall. Had the talks from various profs from princeton and MIT who shared their scientific findings. Palm sweating moments of having to present the poster to my respective examiners and inquisitive profs who came across my poster. And of course took snapshots. enjoy!It was to dinner at Guild house after dat. 10 course dinner with prof leong at our table! NICE!!!

Its funny how it seems that we are always waiting in vain in life. well i just have to cross my fingers and wait. Shall not stay too hopeful and keep my options open....geez

whilst waiting, its thesis, poster,thesis and more poster prep for me! datelines really nearing and all of us are getting a little frenzy. dear sheau ling have picked up korean, was looking at her notes and mine.. was i in awe. the korean charaters are a boundful and i really cant imagine how she manage to remember all those. german and bahasa were already two languages that i found difficult to grapple with. It prob shall be spanish or more german for me after grad. jia u gal! and we are all stress so lets pull this through together.

Physical geog lessons on tue was fun! well stereograph was a little to technical to start of with but managed to get the 3d image out. grand canyons nice.

we were on the topic of being appreciated for things we have done tonight. darls feeling on the downside cos of this issue. well for me i believe that if we try hard and real hard we will be appreciated somehow or another. well though i didnt exactly understood his plight. I guess sometimes others try to pick on our faults rather than the things we have done right. thats just human. but hey dear theres always a rainbow that you may have missed. hehe all rite my sunshine.cheerios.

CONCERT

Wasnt a gd dae for dear since his car went kaputt.

Its been ages since i went for a band concert. Prob a year plus when i went to NTUs one. It was to UCC today to attend NUS wind symphonys concert. Had pretty gd seats i gotta say for $9 tix. earlybird tix is a must grab! The band was gd the clarinet soloist was a blast as he played " Immer Kleine". Which meant him playing the clarinet and also dimantling the instru to parts, and playing it. Kinda of queer but his gd!
After which me and dear went off for dinner. wanted to have teochew porridge but e joo chiat one doesnt exist anymore. well tink im a bad decision maker. even the bedok north hawker (our 2nd choice) was closed for the night. hmmmm. made him went round and round. decision makin is def not my forte. sigh

Been busy with FYP and thesis.
though done with mid terms tests but its back to labbie again. journals, journals and nothing but journals. well tink thesis writing is putting me under the weather. im so not in mood of writing it but wad to do...the date lines nearing. Gosh!
weathers been pretty queer these few days dun u tink. dear commented that its like the dec feel. agree. why is it raining like days. tot its suppose to be like the scorching season? wadeva. rains gd but haven been able to have my swim. have to head for yoga tmr. HAVE TO! haa.
mumsie has been complaining bout my untidy habit of placing my accesories all over the place. on the desk, in the box, in the toilet. okie im an untidy gal. decided to get a jewellery organizer. u know the ones that are tiny mannequins and u can like hang ya dozen earrings and necklace on it. yup shd get dat! b4 i start to lose more of my earrings.
heading to darls aunts place for family gathering later in the evening. cant wait to meet the kiddos!

Had been mia for quite awhile. Cos of the CNY and the tests that came after that. today was the last paper and boy im i drained from e 2 tests. Really tink my memory space is runnning real low. Organic is just so not suitable for me anymore.
CNY these year is pretty eventful. with bro and aifens bdae. baby liz whos here all the way from chicago t o celebrate cny along with my cousin and her mummy kristie. and gathering with extended family!Maybe all the playing is the answer to the downfall of my 2 tests. haa!

Sat nite out!

Darls bud Ei Hua just got back for his hols. Apart from the unkempt hair, ei hua is still the same old grinny guy. He is back for his break from downunder. It was dinner at the Rice Table. Besides the usual TK guy buddies were their other halves. Lawrence and kel lee's gfs were there too. A light hearted dinner, with the guys going all Ga Ga over its Telur Goreng. Well for me it was the Rudjak Manis that was tickling my taste buds. Spicy fruit salad(bet u guys haven tried it b4).With kel lee getting all skeptical bout the additional spiciness to the salad. The dinner was gd.

Then it was to villa Bali yet again. Guys had their booze of beer. while i had my tequila sunrise. Was drizzling slightly, the cool weather added to the ambience while we sat on the tatami mats. nice company but topic strayed a little with kel lee started asking wierd(and i do mean wierd) questions. HAHA! but had a wonderful nite! hope Ei hua spends a nice CNY with his family and dear frens. Thanks for the chocs!

A Sunday Well Spent!

Volunteered today with mum, aunt judy, rina and darl. it was to chinatown to sent food to elders who were under the care of the social welfare. Essentials such as rice, instant noodles, oil and milo were brought to the homes of these needy elders. It was the first time going to the estates of chinatown. Squirmed a little at the sight of the sandwiched units. Far from the normal HDB flats that ive seen and live in. Dim and stuffy. The home is living room+bedroom+kitchen all in one. Some were singles, the fortunate ones have their spouses living with them. They were delighted to see the food provided. But u could just sense the loneliness and despondence when we arrived at their doorstep. A matress, tv are the bare essentials that one could find. Darl provided his macho services by offering to push the trolley stacked with the packets of food. And the rest help in bringing the food into their homes. It was indeed an eye-opener today knowing that amidst the young, bustling side of the city, there lies this other side which requires our attention too.

Have always love this swedish concept store! just look at all the household decor and furniture one can get hold of.pretty n affordable!alrite im not doing an ad here but their stuffs are such a stash.
got myself some potpourri and a top-heavy vase to place them in. got some marbles from dear to decor it. hmm..i wana have a cosy kitchen( a huge washing machine is a must..dear noes best why), with a cosy living room,a walk in wardrobe....etc. well also got those cardboard filing stuff for the new year. ate lunchie there and had fish n chips(serving 2) and their tantalizing meatballs(warning: 5 meatballs will do. anymore makes ya stomach churn!) den mr tng and myself went on to courts and played xbox like for a whole 20 mins. kinda hooked onto it..wanna have one myself! noe its kinda late but Night at The Musuem was gd! met Enbin and carol...they watched the show that im dying to catch..Blood Diamond.till den

BUSY YEAR AHEAD!

Its been quite awhile since ive blogged and mine oh mine its 2007! Was utterly bust with FYP's progress presentation for the past few weeks. Finally the day arrived for me to present to the 2 examiners. nerve-wrecking i must say. nonetheless quite relieve to o cos of my dear frens who sat in my presentation to support me. and well the whole 1/2 hr was a pretty fun one! thank you xueling for being there for me even with ya busy schedule. fang and fen actually sat in too despite their adv organo orientation test. and sheau ling too! My dear lab gals jingyi,shihui,weiyan and lingying also pulled through the presentation. and blessed i am to have them to do dry-runs of the presentation.and of cos thank u dear for listening to my endless dry-runs of presentation and tellin me the mistakes i made!Well yup so it was helluva busy start for 2007 for me. Whole process was pretty fun too!Hope my dear frens out there are having a great start to the year too!Though its not an end to the project yet. but finishing one phase do makes me feel so much relieved!

Tis e season to be merry!
Its the time of the year again. christmas songs jamming up radio stations and lit up streets of orchard road. LOVE christmas shoppings! got stuff for the kids cos me and mr tng were heading to his aunts place for a little christmas gathering. disney princess accesories for the little gals. r/c tow truck for little ah wei and squishy handphone holder for his elder bro. a wallet for sheryl and adidas T for steph. hmmm...quite a boundful of stuff. But enjoyed evey tiny bit of it. heartland malls a re a great place to shop too!

bought a r/c heli for mr tng however it rendered dead by not lifting itself up. damn. headed to ToysRus but its shop assistants werent very toy savvy. they damaged a new one on the spot. foolish! got the pico heli instead. but guess these toys are just not that hardy after all.

well progress report and results day are like nearing! oh gosh. hope everythingturnsout well. it is the annual christmas party at aunty margarets house this year.

Classic Vanilla Cupcakes

1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
1/2 cup vegetable shortening softened
2 cups sugar
4 extra large eggs (l cup eggs)
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 drops lemon and almond extract optional
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoons baking powder
2 1/2 cups milk

Line two twelve-cup muffin pans with cupcake liners. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. (If freezing unbaked, freeze only in foil baking cups-Paper will get soggy from condensation, when thawing.)

Blend butter with shortening until light and fluffy. Add in sugar and beat well. Add in eggs and extracts. Mix dry ingredients together and fold into batter, alternating with milk. Blend on slow speed to combine, scraping down bowl sides and bottom often. Blend until smooth, about 3 minutes. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds to almost full. Place in oven, immediately reducing heat to 350 degrees F.

Bake until cupcakes test done (tops should gently spring back when touched), about 20-24 minutes depending on size of cupcakes. Freeze unfrosted. Approximately 24 medium cupcakes - 36 smaller cakes.

Wonder whether i can make cupcakes like these ones here not? hmmm darling can u lend me ya oven...please?

Compounded discourtesy!
There are many a things singaporeans are bearing the guilt of. Kiasu-ness may be pardoned but definitely not bad etiquette on the mrt.

Scenario 1:An elderly man enters the train only to find it packed with no available seats. Mr kind-hearted stands up and offers his seat. (and then here comes the unexpected) Ms selfish(who is completely abled MIND U!) jostles her way to grab that seat.Exchanging glances with mr kind-hearted and the elderly man(who is darn in need of the seat) makes no signs of lifting her heavy butt of the bloody seat.

Scenario 2: A preganant lady enters an overloaded train. She stands right infront of the seat(labelled with the sign"please give up your seat to the needy")unfortunately the seat is already occupied with mr sha-la-la a young chap who is staring at his MP3 player. mr sha-la-la never once look up from his damn player. with head held low. he 'fails' and pretends to not notice the pregnant lady infront of him.

Scenario 3:ms studious is sitting comfortably on her seat in the train. then comes a mdm A(mind u its a Mdm which is one in her late 40s already) who sat snugly beside ms studious. Its as if flaunting her mp3 hp, mdm A took her hp out and started doodling on the buttons. Then came the sudden blast of music!ms studious who have already immersed into the book jolted up. while Mdm A happily bobs her head(inspite of angry stares from other passengers on board) to the music. yup yup shes the smooth 'criminal'.

Alrite! how many of u have been victimised by all these nonsensical behaviours??(im raising my hand high in the air right now). Please someone come up with either a '101 ways to MRT etiquette' or 'Courtesy for Dummies'...singaporeans are to be educated.

Birthdays...
Ive always love bdaes be it mine or my dear frens'. Happy Feet! its been a long time after Cars since ive catched such a heartwarming toony movie. Mambo was just adore!you cant help it when Elijah woods' behind the amazing voice of the tapping penguin. Just had this queer thought...should i stop eating fish??i mean it saved the lives of the penjuins in emporer land when mass fishing was made a halt rite. But on 2nd thought whoosh! i swear by my daily intake of fish!can never give it up.Trust me to bones, for those who love groovy tunes to wiggle to(well mr tng did alrite during the show)haha.this is THE show!

Eultide season is arriving and boy do i love every moment of it. lightings along orchard,christmas trees(fountain lookalike ones...dat all seem so wrong), christmas shopping, fake santas in carrefour,christmas carolling.

Cooking for the soul

just had the urge of cooking this evening.haha but it turned out to be more of chef tng doing the job today.hehe. started off with shopping for the ingredients at NTUC.eggs,garlic,shallots,crab meat,fish cake = fried rice! yep with the help of auntie's recipe. luckily had dear to send me to NTUC.silly me totally had the shallots off my mind. had to make a 2nd trip to get it made a wasted trip to cold storage near my place! the mart has busted long time ago.damn.

then it was to my place to to whip up the fried rice. all was 'systematic' as what mr tng describes it. was chopping the stuff. i was like the kitchen helper hehe. just took a meer half an hour and it was done. gotta say mr tng is a gd cook! haha oopsie didnt exactly got to fry the fried rice. but i did help out... shall need to brush up my cooking skills from auntie after the exams! had lotsa fun on the whole and enjoyed the meal! thanks alot darl!

p.s mum and dad says mr tng's fried rice is sedap! and benny ate 2.5 plates of it!!

Im walking on sunshine!

it was time for mr tng to service the car again. complains of orange stains on the leather seats were rectified by the nice chaps at borneo motors. of cos with the help of my dear cousin jason whos working at lexus. could just see the divide between t the treatment given to customers on oth sides.

we decided to go vivocity whilst waiitng for the car. well a tad disappointed at first cos the shops were not open yet! caught a movie 'Step up'. 5 popcorns for this chic movie. the male lead has this wow factor. love their grooves. so feel like going back to salsa again. cant wait for dance classes with the gals during the holz!

darl was so worked up when he passed by that infamous huge candy store! but ive gotta say the place is heavenly with all the chocs. im sure my dear fren huifang will scream in delight at the sight of them!Ted baker and Gap werent a disappointment of cos..saw a corduroy green jackie at Gap. hmmm dun tink i should splurge for now..as wad he always say.."save....!'alrite so it was a window shopping day. yup im sure u gals out there know how finger nipping it is to do so.haha.

dinner was splendid! it was at our favourite zhi cha place again. this time it was with mr yong again and Shuhui. it was me and mr tng;s treat this time!the pai ku(pork rib) dish didnt fail me once again. the prawn paste chicken was tantalizing too!with that bout of food we went for a stroll at chinatown. mr yong found what he wanted our fav childhood games-happy family,old maid,donkey and snap. Thus it was endless of fun at Siglaps Coffee Club, with my all time favorito muddy mudpie and the new found fav choc fondue (didnt noe kiwi could go so well with choc).and at the end of the games i won myself the name 'old maid'..yup oh so great!!

E trying times of being in love

Ive always knew that loving someone is not an easy task.

It was our very first job stint together. i was looking forward to it. but it just fell apart on the very first day. worned out and awfully tired, we had to end the day with quarrels. everyone could just see dark clouds looming over our heads. yup i have to admit its my spoilt ways. but its definitely not entirely my fault. Furthermore, sensitivity isnt one of the few words that i can describe about him. we both went to bed, tired and angry.

Me: " why cant he be a little sweeter and sensitive to my feelings..."
him:" why must she always pick up a quarrel.its uncalled for when im already damn tired.."

yup a typical quarrel of an ordinary couple...

But at the end of the day it just dawn on you how much he have done specially for you.
it was back to the jobbie the next day again.and he tried in all ways he could to make my job tad easier. popping by every half an hour to ask me how are things and trying to put a smile on my face. trying his best to help out in my duties. even going out to do the stuff he detest most-surveying. buying me snacks and drinks to perk me up. and it lightens my day up dissolving all the upsets i had the previous night.

This entry is for my special someone who had tolerated all my slowness and whinings. im so glad i had you while im bogged down with the job.wouldnt have been able to have gone through the 3 days without ya presence. Mr Tng...

Bad Day aside, Blogosphere??

Well gloomy day today...things just didnt go the way i expected. But im sure tomorrow will yet to be great day i believe!
as im blogging right at this moment i have come to realized i have stepped into a whole new community known as blogosphere.

Blogosphere-- def:-a communication platform of incredible power and complexity where information and opinions are exchanged, transformed and reworked with astounding rapidity across international boundaries and time zones.

Wow that is a mouthful of stuff. Shall just put it in simpler terms , it being part of the internet globalisation. Funny how it seems that we bloggers are actually aiding in globalisation. All the rantings just before bed time actually contributes to the big word GLOBALISATION. But are we sharing useful information right here? Some of us may just be penning down end of the day thoughts, but there are there are the politically and socially concious bunch who are airing their views to the public. For instance, the recent news about this 18 year old jc girl (whos dad happens to be an MP) who made an elitist remark in her blog on a concerned singaporean who was merely complaining over a loss job. That incident came to me as an immature, insensetive move. I shan't comment further on the apologetic girl already.But it clearly proves that information and every detail we post on our blog makes a difference to opinions of others be it in our own society or across the border.

Many a times we read and leave footprints on blogs by commenting on tags. It is through such interaction means that makes blogs so different from that of conventioal websites. But do we make an effort in keeping the facts right in blogs most of the time? honestly, i dont. Why should i? Firstly, blogs shouldnt be the place to be if u want to know more about the hoo haas happening around the world. secondly, stuff written on blogs are just blabberings. Thirdly, in the blogosphere the individual is king and everyone, rightly or wrongly, can become part of the news. Furthermore other then friends and families who will stumble upon my blog? Thus blog readers out there just be a tad more discriminating when consuming information provided on blogs.

"More Singaporeans caught littering, young offenders on the rise." why the youths? glad to say my conscience is clear since i have not failed to throw rubbish of mine into the bin. i have always detest litterbugs. why ruin the clean and green picturisque of singapore? aint our country tainted enough with our snob and kiasu atrocities? The "clean and green" image is all but one of few stuff that we can be at least be proud of.

I still can recall attending art classes with potraits of the "Clean and Green" campaign iconic frog during my primary school days.The awareness that was instilled in us years back but have since faded through the years. we are just taking it for granted expecting cleaners to clean up our leftover mess. Not forgetting this cleaners may be the elders.Ashamed we ought to be. Im sure some of u guys out there will be going "aww...stop preaching, its just litter" but really we wont want the country to turn into slums.even if it means throwin' away that samll piece of tissue paper.

Dats wad i call Comfort food!

After a long dreadful day at school, all i was looking forward to is back home for dinner. Mummy cooked porridge today and nope its not the porridge dat was all so tantalizing but this tiny side dish...........for those of u guys who r skeptical about this bottle of blackish mess. its a traditional teochew preserved porriage containment, Ga Na Chai (olive vegetable).Its my first time trying it today and proud to say i love it.true blur teochew! ha!

Family gatherings

family gatherings are always something i look forward. Be it bdae parties or just a simple meal affair, they just make my day!Yest was a special day for my dearest cousin yann ru. finally 21! something that im sure she has been looking forward to.The evening was just meant to be a deepavali dinner at Aunty Judy's place and a surprise for that dear gal. but guess my accidental remark whilst introdusing Kel to her gave everything away! The ever so easily satisfied bdae gal was overwhelmed with emotions when she finally saw the bdae cake. She was squealing away in delight. hope she had a memorable 21st!shall upload the pics another day.

Read an article on the news during the world cup season on sporean ladies' fake enthusiasm for soccer. COuld rembr some of the itsy bitsy contents about it. The article resurfaced while i was enjoying an Aresenal match against Watford yest in darls room, and wow was i impressed! Yes unbelievable? skeptical audrey watching a soccer match. While im writing this entry im expecting squirms and scorns from my male pals with wiry comments " oh heck, what do girls know about soccer?" Well i aint an avid fan of soccer. but it will be unfair to make that previous statement. We just need a little explaination. Of course i had dear explaining to me some stuff about soccer while the game was on. And i sure cant spot an offside still. BUT that doesnt imply our ignorance to soccer!

Was watching in awe at Gunners' splendid goals. Although the game started off with an own goal. but the next two were impressive. Especially the one beautifully done by Thierry Henry and Emmanuel Adebayor. newbie Theo Walcott was a darl. okie ive gotta say this.."he is C-U-T-E!"

Kayaking

Yest was a day well spent. revisions aside. we went kayaking at bedok reservoir! it was a 3 hr kayak orientation by PaddlezInc. Although the haze was a little of a spoiler, we had our fair share of fun. The most exhiliarating part? capsizing. Yup all thanks to the mischief of mr tng. It was so sudden.heard the usual Splash and there i was rite in the reservoir. Great! how were we suppose to get back up? yup with the help of the instructor. Well its a rare gem to be able to dip ourselves in the reservoir. So shall spare mr tng for that. lazing and chatting in the kayak was heavenly!its been years since i did water sports ,eversince learning windsurfing 2 yrs back. shall consider the 1* kayak course. Lunch and dinner were magnificent! courtesy of darls mummy's recipe! Chee Cheong Fun and sushi. the finale steam rice with chicken (with dat oh so delicious sauce) were so comforting...yummalicious!Whats with dat little weight gained?! shall heck!!Thanks auntie for the nice food, they were sure stress relievers!

Who gains when celebrities visit Africa?

Was flipping thru the newspaper a few days ago and came a bUzz news that madonna is going to adopt an african kid. yet again is another of these stars-adopting news. was surfing through BBC online and came across this discussion topic and it kinda caught my attention. would like to hear views from u guys too.

personally i would and could never ever link divas like madonnna to such charitable moves. oh just look at her raunchy music videos, the goody two shoes image would just be a no no! In recent years stars such as angelina jolie,charlize theron and even home-grown stars have made such 'private' visits to povertised countries like africa. Ironically, their 'private' visits will always be photographed and splashed on media. Why should they even be publicised? okay with the paparazzi aside. It doesnt have to be an announced affair. Furthermore, pictures would always potray the hapless, forlorn looking kids beside these stars. Are they evencomfortable to the media? they could have been squirming in awkwardness under spotlight. Nevertheless, the stars would benefit in gaining the boost in image. Are this stars really socially conscious? well i choose to doubt. Furthermore, its not that there is a lack of children living in the ghettos in their homeland. These kids are just commodities for them to boost their PR image. However, if the welfare of the kids truelly improves under such circumstances, then will i differ my opinion of such 'charitable' actions.

E special Dae!

It is e special dae dat ive been looking forward to. Nope it not children's dae!Yup its my parents wedding anni. and also a special dae i share with dat special someone.it all started 5 yrs back riite mr tng?

Woke up at 745am and was preparing to go to my favorite getaway place .yup its e ZOO! A surprise from Kel. he had to get to toa payoh to collect the tix from safra yesterday (with no complains!!).TOUCHED...love u to bits for dat darling.Kel picked me up and we headed for prata breakfast at Jalan Kayu.prata was a tad below usual standards though, maybe its the sunday morning blues.or maybe its cos of the excitement in me,prata just tasted bland.

At the Zoo,the sight of kids overwhelmed us!What is Children's dae without the kids rite? and there are loads of adorable ones too!me and kel blend pretty well too.the big kids.geez!

There were changes made to the enclosures in the zoo. like the outback enclosure and the fragile forest. the pygmy hippo encolsure.

MOst beautifel enclosure : FRAGILE FOREST. it was filled with butterflies that were fluttering around us.racoons were free to roam. scaredy mr tng were actually afraid of butterflies!oops!most Entertaining show: animal friends show. the dogs were such darlings. Max my personal fav actually looks rite into ur eyes when u go up and close with him.

As usual the white tigers are the ones that i will not miss! they have not grown much though but laziness is getting over them. plain boredom in their den too i guess.just love lobserving their every move.

We spend a whole 8 hours in the zoo! yup! 8 HOURS!WHoo was tired and left for Ben n Jerrys. had mix and match. wen on to villa bali for beer, appetizers and finger food. their tandoori chicken is a definite must must try!!and five star chickie rice at katong next. 9.5/10 for everything u've planned dear! more pics of the animals soon.....

Its a sunday morning! waking up feeling e sweet warm sun basking on me...was so looking forward to blogging todae cos of the wonderful dae i had yest.

Was suppose to go for my 2nd weekly jog but decided to stay home to guide bro in his chem revisions. On fri,went for our weekly jog at SRC. the nice bunch of guys actually waited for us for dinner at PS's manhatten fish market. went on for ben n jerry's at cathay. saw teenage gals swooned over a boy band there, whom we were cluless about. had our mix n matches.wanted to find ben n jerry car decals for darling but they dun seem to have them.

sat was a much awaited day cos audrey heng started her cooking lessons!! haha started with fried rice. cutting shallots is not as easy! dear mr tng tried and he teared! mine oh mine! now i noe wad makes him vulnerable..chuckles. throughout i had auntie and endang to guide me. was quite in jitters before i started cos u noe how slow i can be. but its really fun cooking with my dear mr tng beside me. was tinking...'gotta whip up something nice for my dear..' manage to do it with aunties guidance. well it wasnt fantastic but glad dat it wasnt bland and of cos most importantly edible.

Next went on for sec schs alumni chalet. glad to have dear to fetch me there. otherwise i wouldnt be able to reach there on time. met some of my ex-teachers and sch mates. and yup reminiscing old times in student council. mr colin tan as usual always that cranky. performed his redition of dat Jay chou new song with dat 'sing to the sky guy'. learnt a few tips bout frisbee from mr frisbee-Junyu. shall try it out in sch with the gals next fri!discussions bout alumni sprts gathering and new yr parties. glad that we r still haing such meet-ups.sweet dear came to pick us up next for movies.

just got home and decided to blog. lab was dreadful today! fiber got stuck in GC machine. yaya

just not my day. saw u and it brightened up my dae! thanks for coming over to have lunchie with

me dear.it really meant alot after all the screw ups in lab. shovelled our way thru e crowd to

business and phew boy we were glad we found seats.e western food was just divine at dat

moment. was contemplating whether to attend 'understanding ya medications'. did not! studied

in e lib instead.while he was digging into tutorials. just so swooned over him when he is all

serious with sch work. i went thru lec notes and space groups once again! and mine do they make

me go giddy!went shopping in the evening with lotte.its been quite sometime since we met.

enjoyed e evening lotsa! got our eyes on dresses at ICE...yup 'ke ching!prices were v pretty

too!decided dat such extravagant, pretty dresses shd onli appear in my dreams.sweet of ya to

yep! its a sunday once again! oh alrite its raining now. anyways its been days since ive blogged.
went out with dear mr tng and mr yong last nite. had dinner 'zhi cha' with them at chinatown. gotta say its real good! yummy..love their pai ku and claypot tou foo.
friends out there in search of nice zhi cha. heres the addie! Keong saik road. Tong Ah kopitiam. courtesy of mr yong!
had a nice dinner with the 2 guys. anyways e street is part red light district too with occasional ah peks loitering.also zen-like book store like WHATEVER.COM that has a veri cosy feel to it. well finally found a hang out place other den the usual orchard road. went on queensway shopping centre. dear mr tng was looking ard for street soccer boots. but haven found a suitable one yet. mr yong got an adicolour nephew. We den headed to Little Bali.mr yong suggested it and its a nice relaxing place. drinking on tatame mats under straw huts. veri rustic feel. has this sweet smell too (dat mr tng was so attracted to it).nice chill out place! 5 stars for it. mr yong shared with us his business trips to shanghai and india. so wanna go shanghai this dec hols!okie dear? shall ask dad n mum first of cos..hehe!cant wait to go back to Little Bali again!great evening on e whole! thanx to dear mr yong!

Had a long day todae!!! just finished tutorial and presentation...exhausted!but fulfilling day though cos managed to handle the GC-FID instrument with the help of v helpful lab tech. managed to optimize the instrument for BTEX. e long day in sch well wasnt that bad at all....cos of my darling frens..the leong's labbie crazy ppl and of cos e dear gals in prof lee's lab too. the darling lab techs like mdm Frances and joanne who r so helpful...awww...without them i'll will be so so lost! Definitely learn to be more independent thru the days. but aint having nice meals. looking forward to sakae this weekend with boo...and shopping so deprived of it the past few weeks!!alritey going to sleep soooon...tata!

Finally finished my honours proposal..phew. just hope it will be a gd one.played bowling with my boo. finally reached the 100 score!! had a great time with mr tng. had supper next with ying,zq,mr yong and mr tng at siglap.bar chor mee.well tasted not bad.thanks for the treat shi fu!
dear mr tng had a bowling com and soccer match last sat.didnt get to catch both of them though. presentation slides to rush with.poor boo hurt his pinkie and got elbowed.
